Packed and checked

Complete emergency kits

Ready-made emergency kits for 1 to 4 people, from 72 hours upwards. Choose by household size and by how long you want to stay self-sufficient.

A complete emergency kit arrives packed and checked, so you do not have to work out what belongs in it. These kits cover one, two, three or four people and are built around at least 72 hours of self-sufficiency, with larger versions for longer periods. Water, food, light, first aid and communication are already together in one bag you keep in a fixed spot at home.

Start with the number of people in your household, children included: a four-person kit simply holds more water and food than a solo kit. Then look at duration. Three days is the common baseline in the Netherlands and across most of Europe, so 72 hours is the floor rather than the target. Check that the kit includes a radio and a light source, because those two are the most often forgotten. If something is missing, top it up with single items from Build your own emergency kit. Keep the kit in a fixed place near the front door and put the expiry dates in your calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Choose a kit for everyone who is normally at home, children included. Plan on roughly three litres of water per person per day. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one; having spare supplies is rarely the problem.
