For most people a model between ten and twenty thousand mAh is the best balance of weight and number of charges. Count on roughly two to four full phone charges per ten thousand mAh, because conversion always costs something. Also check the output: a phone is happy with eighteen watts, while a laptop often needs sixty watts or more over USB-C. If the power bank lives in an emergency kit, choose one that holds its charge well and top it up twice a year. Flying with it? Airlines set limits in watt-hours, so check the figure printed on the casing before you pack it in hand luggage.
