This lets you head outdoors safely and worry-free. Suitable from 3 months of age. A tick is a spider-like parasite, barely bigger than a pinhead, that can cause nasty diseases. When a tick bites, it latches onto the skin of a human or animal. Around 20 percent of the ticks in the Netherlands carry the infectious Borrelia bacterium. This bacterium can cause Lyme disease or TBE. Preventing a tick bite is therefore better than curing one.
