Big Berkey Water purification
The Big Berkey filter 99.99999% of all impurities in the water and ensures that the good minerals are preserved. In contrast to, for example, the carbon filter of the Sawyer S3 filter that has to be replaced after 400 liters, the filters of the Berkey go up to 11,350 liters.
Besides the S3 from Sawyer, there is no other brand that comes close to the filter quality of the Berkey.
The Black water filter elements that are standard in the Big berkey filter include:

During an emergency, the Big Berkey with 4 filters (2 standard included) between 85-175 people can be replaced every day with their 2 liters of water.
This makes the big Berkey ideal for small groups, unite or for use in the neighborhood.

Standard comes the Big Berkey with 2 black water filter elements for the upper room. These filters combined are good for 22,700 liters of water. With a usage of 50 liters per week, this amounts to almost 9 years!
In total there is room for 4 elements in the upper room.
The throughput speed is as follows:
- 2 Filters: 13.3 liters per hour (included as standard)
- 4 Filters: 24.6 liters per hour

In the lower chamber the water filter offers room for 4 additional filters. Special PF-2 filters can be placed here for the removal of fluoride. (The number of Fluoride filters should always be equal to the number of black water filters in your water purification system)
