Biofilm drops - Silver & Coper Inoden - Prevents algae growth
Biofilms drops from Berkey improve the functioning of the filters and ensure a longer life. In addition, they prevent algae growth and ensure that your stored water remains good for at least 5 years.
The Biofilm drops from Berkey therefore work against the growth of Biofilm and algae.
What is Biofilm?
Biofilm is a layer of micro-organisms that attach themselves to a surface. These microorganisms surround themselves with mucus and this makes the surface feel smooth.
Maybe you know, you've left your water bottle with water for too long and the walls on the inside feel smooth. So this is Biofilm. Biofilms are a breeding ground for bacteria and are found on almost all surfaces that come into contact with water for a long time.
The biofilms drops prevent and remove 99% of all Biofilm.
Biofilm is suitable for?
The Biofilm drops are of course suitable for use with the water filters of Berkey itself. The water filters last a lot longer if you use these drops.
In addition, they are mainly intended to make water sustainable for a long time. If you add a few Biofilm drops to your Jerrycan or water storage tank, make sure that the water will last up to 5 years.
This makes Biofilm drops ideal for water tanks in caravans or campers. These walls are often completely full of Biofilm.
Use biofilm drops
Berkey Biofilm drops work best if you use them preventively.
You need to add 4 drops of the Biofilm drops per 3.8 liters of water.
22 Drops = 1ml
Bottle has a total of 60ml. Good for 1,248 liters of water.
Example: If you have a 208-liter tank for storing water, you can add 10ml at once. Included with the drops is a small test tube to measure the ml's.
After adding the Biofilm drops to your water supply you do well to close the water tanks again and only open them again if you actually want to use them.
After opening your water tank, fill the test tube with water from your water tank. Add 2 drops of the supplied coper inodes and check whether the test tube changes color. If the water changes from color to light yellow, copper is present in the water and is still usable.
If the water does not change color then you have to throw away the water or filter and do not use it directly for consumption.
Use the color chart from the description to see just the right color that the water should receive.
TIP: For long-term storage of water, you should first filter the water with your berkey water filter. In addition, make sure that your water tanks are clean. This way your water will last longest.
